Who thought there would be an earthquake in the Mid-West of this magnitude? I mean of course they have been talking about it for a long time but they also scared us into stocking up on water and canned goods for something called y2k also. They once told us that "Killer Bees" from Africa would come and swarm the entire continent. This was not the big one but I think it should be enough for us to rethink a few things. The first time an Insurance Broker mentioned earthquake insurance to me I laughed out loud and thought she was joking. Once I realized she wasn't I was rather offended. I thought maybe she was under the impression that I was a sucker or that I would be easily persuaded. I didn't get the coverage and luckily for me it didn't end up costing me in the end. Unfortunately everybody wasn't as lucky as I. Insurance is something that nobody ever wants to purchase. We always think it's a rip off. Then berate some customer service rep for telling us there is nothing they can do because we don't have coverage.
